This is the gold standard for simple survival maps with no EE to solve. Lots of room to work, Pack-a-Punch, and a mystery box. What more could you ask for? A simple map with a simple EE. Another default map that's arguably the best in the game. The map actually walks you through the EE.

These custom-fitted guns, complete with your favorite attachments, start at a low power level but can be upgraded in each match. That means you can just use your personal weapons and keep upgrading them rather than using the guns you might find on the map.
That means the experience you gain in Zombies carries over to your multiplayer rank. This new weapon rarity system adds a strong sense of progression to Zombies.
Rather than dealing with the binary of good guns and bad guns, there are now shades of gray between each gun. In one match I got a semi-automatic rifle, and while I might have passed it by in previous games, its Legendary rarity convinced me to send it through the Pack-a-Punch machine and I ended up using it for dozens of rounds.
It saved me dozens of times and let me cut through early-round zombies way better than I could have with a Common assault rifle.
Treyarch overhauled the perk system and removed fan favorite perks from the game. They added 14 new perks in generic statues or machines, leaving little personality for the perks. The Aether storyline did not receive an original map in the game.
However, the redeeming factor of this game is the experimenting. Players have more customization in this game than any previous zombies mode.
Even though this game largely failed, it allowed maps such as IX and Ancient Evil to be created. Call of Duty fans were not pleased by another futuristic CoD. Four actors named Andre, Poindexter, Sally, and A. They also added their twist, making them candy boxes and creating the mystery wheel. When players downed, they went to the Afterlife Arcade where they could play games to get back in the game faster.
When players complete the Easter Egg, they are met with an ending cutscene with a big twist that Mephistopheles was pulling the strings. Out of all the non-Treyarch zombies, Infinite Warfare takes the cake with its consistent themes and unique take to the zombies game mode. Call of Duty: Cold War is the sixth game directed by Treyarch that has zombies in it. Following the conclusion of the Aether storyline, players are following the Dark Aether storyline. Treyarch added several new systems to the game, such as weapons rarity, upgrades to perks and removing the perk limit.
They also added a salvage table for players to craft scorestreaks and the ability to exfil and survive the zombies. Die Maschine brought players to the familiar setting of Nacht der Untoten with a sinister secret underneath it.
Players are able to enter the Dark Aether and retrieve Pack-a-Punch. The player rescues a man named Orlov and use the D. Players also see the return of Hellhounds and Russian Manglers, and a new enemy called the Mimic. The Ordas is the final boss of the map. Outbreak is the most unique zombies experience to date. An open world zombies game mode with several different locations to travel to and a main Easter Egg. However, players feel Treyarch are not releasing round based maps at a consistent rate.
The lack of transparency between Treyarch and the community about the future of Cold War zombies as well as the lack of content holds back this game from being in contention for the best Call of Duty zombies game. Russman, Misty, Marlton and Samuel J. Stuhlinger are survivors of the nukes hitting Earth. The first three maps of Black Ops II nearly killed the game mode. The launch map, TranZit, is one of the worst maps of all time.
With the fog, inconsistent busses, the Avogadro boss and much more, zombies was headed in the wrong direction. Then, add Black Ops 3's gameplay systems and you have Der Eisendrache. If this list was based on visual spectacle, this would be number one easily. A snowy castle in the mountains is just awesome.
This easter egg is simple compared to other Zombies maps, meaning new players and Zombies veterans alike can enjoy it. Nuking the Moon was also a nice touch. Unfortunately, this map is pretty easy and can get boring at times. Besides that, this map is practically perfect. Black Ops 2 received criticism from veteran Zombies fans for its boring cast of characters, lackluster maps, and lack of the original Zombies cast in this installment.
Treyarch took all of those criticisms to heart and created Origins, a map that took the glowing reception of Mob of the Dead and cranked it up to Elemental staves gave a tangible sense of easter egg progress, and the easter egg on this map is pretty amazing.
World War I aesthetics and themed weaponry was satisfying to experience, setting this map apart from every other Zombies map ever made, even comparing it to today's maps. Many Zombies fans were disappointed with Treyarch's first map, TranZit. It lacked interesting characters, had a lacking easter egg, and its segmented nature made it a chore to play. Die Rise wasn't much better, but Mob of the Dead was a complete in design and execution.
Instead of surviving as long as possible, players had an actual objective in this map: create a plane to escape Alcatraz. Of course, escaping from Alcatraz is no easy task. Boss zombies had a massive impact on this map, perfecting the implementation originally seen in Shangri-La. The weapon sandbox on this map was superb. Neverending hallways of cells and stairs made Alcatraz seem incredibly expansive and like a real location. The easter egg was fantastic as well.
Mob of the Dead's overall fun factor makes it the best Zombies map ever made to this day. Eternals has a post-credit scene, but it's one that left many scratching their heads.
